Corinth
All good things come to an end, and today was the last full day of our holiday. We went to the site at Corinth where the archaeologist in charge gave us a tour including visits to parts of the site not normally open to the public. The female contingent in the group were rather impressed by him; I heard the words 'suave' and 'handsome' mentioned in descriptions. A picture of him talking to the group in the extras, and the main shot is of the Temple of Zeus at the site.
A quick photo-stop at the Corinth Canal (second extra) before arriving back in Athens and a visit to the National Archaeological Museum, then to the hotel, and a final meal this evening.
It's been a great holiday. A small group of people who have all got on really well together, mainly from the UK but also some Americans, Canadians and Australians. We've had a 62 seater coach for 25 of us plus guides, so plenty of room to move around, stretch out etc. We've been accompanied all the way by our Archaeologist, Dr Rita Roussos, a lovely Greek tour guide, Maria, and our superb and long suffering tour manager, Mary. We've stayed in some excellent places and seen some superb sites. Above all, it's been great fun. I can thoroughly recommend the tour company, Andante Travel, to anyone who is interested in this sort of holiday, and they do tours all over the world.
I'm not looking forward to weighing myself when I get home.
