Blooms in Lilac

Walking back through our former premier hotel, was impressed to find the gardens are looking a little more groomed. And their lilac blooms are privileged to be chosen for today’s blip.

Now on the X1 bus to Lymington, a scenic 1h35mn trip partly hugging the coast. Meeting bro. & sis-in-law who are still to experience many of the delights of our region.


All planned (we always do the same routine). Meeting near Waitrose. Walk down the High Street and a light lunch at Ciao Belli. Followed by a stroll past the marinas - via the Art Deco Sea Water Outdoor Pool (ginormous - one of my 7 Wonders of the World). Then maybe pop into The Haven for a drink (was partly owned by Chris Evans - just found out new owners).

The forecast strong winds now seem to have headed North. We took a battering last night, hardly slept. It improved by 2am but of course by then I was too awake.

1: One hour wait for the Bus home, so came back by train.
2: Spotted Michael Portillo having tea at Stanwell ‘Boutique Hotel’ (bright trousers a giveaway)
