A Doomed Ladybird
This little lady popped through my letter box yesterday and had a stay of execution in order to be blipped today. I have no doubt that by tonight she will be the late ladybird and I will be licking my lips. I don’t expect to find any golden ticket under her wrapping.
I am constantly reminded how kind family and friends are when the going gets tough and this latest little gesture amongst all the other ones coming to the Dower House means so much to His Lordship and me.
Son#1, down from Moray for a meeting in Edinburgh paid an unexpected visit yesterday afternoon before his train back. I managed to offload some of my too-spicy-for HL -soup onto him which leaves me with a manageable quantity still to consume.
It seems to be dark days for Moray Council. I just hope they can turn things around before it’s too late.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom though, we had a good catch up on family news. We don’t see enough of each other, but perhaps when the family are down to visit the new V&A in Dundee and Glasgow daughter, we will meet up again soon.
Now having served HL with his fresh non spicy soup I am going to cycle into the teeth of the wind to have a coffee with a cycling friend recovering from a broken collar bone after going over the handlebars when she came to grief on a City pothole filled with water.
I see no published record of cycling injuries caused by those innumerable potholes, nor does there seem to be any concerted effort to fix them.
