...stuffed and eponymous for the Eulenkrug (Owl Inn), on the upper river Weser near Holzminden. We celebrated my father’s 88th birthday at the inn, a view down to the river as an extra. Still in operation are the savings boxes on the wall. - And there’s the back of a piece of Royal Copenhagen china from my parents’ collection, acquired over many years on visits to Hannover, the nearest major city.
