Grey's Monument

Standing proud in the centre of Newcastle this monument celebrates the life and achievements of Lord John Grey of Howick. His parliamentary life spanned half a century as he campaigned vigorously for peace, civil and religious liberty. As Prime Minister 1830-1834 he brought about wide ranging parliamentary reform with the Great Reform Act 1832.
