wind surfing

As I was sitting on my front porch this afternoon, a large number of magpies flew overhead. They weren't really flapping their wings in such a way as to get anywhere, they were just soaring and diving in the brisk breeze. I ran in to get my camera in hopes of catching a blip, and much to my delight, they hung out in the sky over my porch for 30 minutes or more.
