Woodland idyll

This lovely newly discovered walk less than half a mile from my front door is under threat.
Part of the Reading suburbs (think grossly overpopulated Thames Valley), Sibley Hall is a long deserted student residence owned by the University of Reading. This ugly high rise, set in the heart of Lower Earley, is curiously fascinating to me. It occupies a corner of a large field, surrounded by surprisingly spacious woodland - a lovely place to walk the dog.
Each time we walk past the building I'm fascinated by its size and emptiness and wonder about all the students that have lived and partied there over the years.
Now the University are selling it off, and over 100 houses are going to be built on the land. The locals aren't happy and I'll be sad to lose such a peaceful oasis so close to home.
