And so it continues
See that Phil Whittaker - the GP who writes in the NS, yes that one. He’s good. Responding to research from the Children’s Society (self-harming behaviour to be at epidemic levels among our young people – 22 per cent of female 14-year-olds deliberately hurting themselves over the course of a year) he lays out in a common sense way, what we’re doing to our young people.
"The surge in numerous different psychiatric conditions in the young has nothing to do with some sudden generational flakiness. Our culture has become unsustainably stressful: as a result, our children are showing unprecedented levels of distress."
And he does go on to lay out the case; much food for thought.
Later, a new book* and a swim in the sea before the Black Cats at Casablanca. My life, thankfully, isn’t unsustainably stressful at all.
