Day Off in the Snow
So what were we to do after both having taken the day off work? We could have done some stuff around the house, but we wanted to get out (mainly given we finally had some snow), but we didn't really want to go for a big walk, and Mel wasn't too keen on a snow cycle.
So we went to the zoo. We'd not been in ages, and given the weather and the Monday there were likely to be a lot less in the way of crowds and kids. And so it proved, though we saw a remarkable amount of the animals. I'm still not sure how I feel about zoos in general to be honest...
But it was a nice relaxed day after 3 days of things happening all the time. Mind you, once home I wrestled with sticking a pair of mudguards on the Kaff, a job I've never liked - I'd do almost any other maintenance on the bike rather than putting on mudguards and setting them up properly centrally and making sure the brakes work around them.
Now sitting with a nice glass of Cava from Earthy Foods (oh, by the way, The Dogs was superb again last night, and damned reasonable, and the first time I've tried lambs' hearts...) waiting for a pizza to arrive (actually, it arrived just as I posted that - just had the starter, Arancini and Bruschetta - so i'm going to wrap this up now...).
Work tomorrow, so back to depressive ranting... ;)
