I am pleased to finally see a bike hire scheme in Edinburgh, though will be fortunate in having no immediate need of it, which will allow me to play/test the process without ever being in a rush to get anywhere.

The gearing is very low - not quite low enough at the low end to get up Gloucester Lane without standing up in the pedals, but definitely low enough to spin out and not feel fast enough even on a clogged 20mph road.
