Archaeology in action

DigVentures are holding a conference and open weekend on Lindisfarne. Most of the Time Team crew are there too!
Pictured is work being done to prepare for lifting the skeleton of an Anglo Saxon man (monk?), who was relatively tall for the time (about 5'10"), and 8th century, so from just before the Viking invasion.
Extra is the view from the trenches, which are in the field at the back of the present ruined priory.
