Dubai Marina

Got to church well in time today and even had a chance to visit the Bible Society shop. We were invited to lunch with the couple whom we had lunch with two weeks ago, this time at their flat in Dubai Marina. I was hoping to get a grand shot of the skyscrapers there, but the sun was in the wrong place and this shot of construction of a new development which replaces the old clubhouse is more interesting. Methinks.

We had a great time with Gary and Cecilia. Gary is a man after my own heart - he loves speakers (he builds his own) and prefers an analogue amp for his stereo, and he has the same taste in music too! We had a delicious home-cooked meal, followed by watching a few video clips on their very large (65 inch) SMART TV! James Corden's carpool karaoke was one of them. The others were of Chilean traditional dances as Cecilia is from there.

We were home later than anticipated, but there was time for a cup of tea and to get well and truly ready for next week (read: finish all the ironing).
