Boring but important

It was the AGM of the choir this afternoon. Half of the committee resigned, including the president, the vice-president, and the secretary. But luckily our efforts to attract new members had succeeded and we ended up with nine candidates for a minimum of nine committee members, so the choir lives to fight on. After almost four hours of meeting, the majority of attendees spontaneously got up, stacked their chairs, and started attacking the cake. Probably just as well. Now we just have to organise a meeting of the committee to identify someone foolish/brave enough to agree to be president (not me!).
