AMSTERDAM DAY 2

Actually we went into Haarlem....a 10 min walk to station and 20 min train ride.
It was a beautiful town, quiet and clean. So much more picturesque than Amsterdam.
It was market day...we tasted cheese, salamis, dips, chocolate and cakes!!!!
However we still managed to stop for brunch at one of the many lovely cafes.
Then we did a canal boat trip around the town. Afterwards we walked to this windmill and had a great tour guide who took us to the top.
After a false alarm to the beer museum (that wasn’t) we went for a delicious meal in a warm cosy restaurant...great ribs and paella.
By now it was raining; but not cold, and we walked back to the station for our train to sloterdijke. We had a very wet walk back to the hotel so after a quick change we headed down to the bar to enjoy our market purchases (or contraband ).

Thankful...that today I have laughed so loud and for so long my sides hurt!!
