I Didn’t Know They Worked Like That

A trip into La Rochelle today to drop our friends. As we took the small bridge across one of the channels, I spotted this. It looks fairly new, so someone is missing it I’m sure. I was torn between the upside down semi-submerged bike and the oyster-covered lock-gates to the marina; the second is added as an extra pic. It started a conversation about how it got there, why it was so perfectly upside down (air in the tyres is best bet) and how the owner would recover it. Mulling things like this is one of the small treasures of being semi-retired. PS, La Rochelle beat Lyon yesterday 30-13, West Ham drew 0-0 with Chelsea today, so a good weekend all round.
