Westmorland Sunset

Well, we made it to Ambleside, a bit late, but just in time to check in and watch the sun go down over Windermere.

We drove up via Wakefield and the very lovely Hepworth Gallery to revel in the surreal photographs of Lee Miller and Vivian Sassen.

We're here to give the Boy a chance to fulfil his dream of tackling the devilishly harsh Hardknott and Wrynose Passes on his bike...an ascent known as the king of UK hill climbs.

The challenge begins tomorrow ...
