Poor Maddy

Friday evening I noticed Maddy's left eye was partly closed then Saturday I noticed a swelling under her eye which was nearly closed up. So emergency call to the vets, our local one had no appointments but she said their Rothwell branch may have some so we called them and got an appointment. It turns out that the vet thinks that Poor Maddy has an abscess under one of her back molars so she is on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory  tablets. I have to wrap them in liver and bacon pate to get her to take them. It hasn't stopped her eating though. I hope they clear it up otherwise it could mean an extraction according to the vet (more expense, that dog has cost us a fortune this year, but you have to pay up when they are getting older we're lucky to have the NHS)
