Larch Cottage Nurseries

As I mentioned on Saturday this weeks guests at the Lodge include a blipper.  As a result a mini blip meet was arranged meeting at the nurseries in Melkinthorpe for coffee.  When we arrived the blipper and her husband were already in the cafe.  A cafe  which owing to the storms had no electricity.  So we sat by the window and chatted hoping the power would come back.

Eventually we decided it wasn't coming back soon so having discovered they could boil water but not use the coffee machine it was teas all round.  In conversation they said yes they had seen round the garden centre.

When the cafe closed at 4:00 the weather was OK and the garden centre didn't close for another hour so we wandered round chatting.  It was then realised they hadn't seen more than about a quarter of the centre.  It goes on and on and on.  A remarkable place show casing the landscape gardening which the firm does as well.  The owner is an ex-pupil of mine and he has done a remarkable job, which seems to have something new every time we visit.
