Beech nuts

A quiet morning and most of the holiday washing now down and dried.  It was so dire at the weekend I decided to wait until today.  Sorted out various bits and pieces and wandered around the garden - I was hoping to get bees on the sedum but no such luck - but there was an abundance of beech mast so I picked up a few and took many pictures but this one was my favourite - reminds me of a snake eating tis prey.
Lovely sunshiny day and quite warm in the sunshine.
