Hinton Ampner (MM244)
We moved a little way East today from Winchester to Chichester and stopped off at Hinton Ampner on the way. The house has had a chequered history, built up in the Georgian period, redeveloped in the 30s, burnt down in the 60s, rebuilt and refurnished, handed to the National Trust, a dodgy tennant and the roof was wrecked a couple of years back!
Worth seeing - before some other calamity befalls it :-)
Converted to monochrome and in the style of some of the photographs on display from the 1930s. The owner, Ralph Dutton, certainly had no lack of focus in his determination to get the house into a state to house his collection.
Thanks to Ellaphant for hosting Mono Monday.
