Grey phalarope

This is an heavily cropped unblippable image but I am blipping it anyway. I hadn't seen a grey phalarope before, so this is another bird off the list.

This little bird, about the size of a dunlin, breeds in the Artic but they sometimes  turn up in the UK, after storms, during autumn migration. This particular bird is swimming about on Clifton Marsh, which isn't very far from me. If I can find the time, I may well go back tomorrow to see if I can get a close-up shot. I will need to go earlier in the day so that the sun isn't behind the bird and in my eyes!

I haven't been very good at blipping recently,  and it isn't going to improve much in the short term as I am going away on Friday. I hope to do a number of backblips on my return.
