Who does your eye focus on first...

...on the small man or the huge angel...

A stopover in South Yorkshire for our visitors, to cut down the journey time from Tynemouth to Hastings to a more reasonable length ( little Kiri is very anxious travelling long distances ).

Decided to wend our way on the first leg south via The Angel of the North and "Tommy" in Seaham. In the process discovered a great dog-friendly café down at the harbour in Seaham called The Lookout - recommended, with or without dogs!

Roy also made a new best friend as we photographed Tommy - a welder and diver on the rigs, who told him about another Ray Lonsdale sculpture - a miner in Horden Welfare Park - which we will call in to see on another trip oop north.
