Onimous sky...
Well, I got some things done today. YAY! Go me! :)
Weatherwise it was rather an exciting day. Lovely sunrise, windy but dry with sunshine and blue skies most of the day.
Until 5pm(ish). That's when the excitement started. The wind picked up. OK. So far, so good. We're used to wind. BUT! First a rumble... Thunder! Eep!
Then... MORE thunder! Double eeep!
Then LIGHTNING! Oh nooz! Yup.
Then torrential rain and hail. It felt like Dooms Day for a bit.
One friend's TV got blown up, another friend got (indirectly, thank goodness!) struck by lightning, while getting a *ride-on* out of a shed.
Now, way back when I was young and a *big city* girl, I used to LOVE a good storm. The more thunder & lightning, the better. I used drag a chair out onto the balcony of my 13th floor appartment and just sit there, watching the lightning flash along the sky. Fab, truly fab!
But out here on the Peninsula it's a little different. No high-rise buildings to distract lightning anywhere, so we're so very exposed! Our closest neighbour's house has been struck by lightning more that once, since we moved here. So! I'm just not as keen on thunder & lightning as I used to be.
This is a pic of the sky, just after it calmed down a bit and it (kinda) stopped raining. Excuse the raindrop in the bottom left corner. The camera & I got just a little wet.
