Peter Rabbit is missing
A bit of consternation this morning when we discovered that the two copies of The Tale of Peter Rabbit and the one copy of The Tale of Benjamin Bunny normally in the three year old's bedroom were missing. To be fair to the three year old's 38 year old uncle all three books were inscribed to him and I had drawn his attention to them at the weekend. Conclusion: they've gone back to their rightful owner. But that didn't help when Peter Rabbit was the ONLY book which would do. Cue a trip to the library but no Peter Rabbit to be found. So off we went to the Oxfam bookshop where we picked up
The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck
The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies and
The Tale of Mr Jeremy Fisher all for the bargain price of 49p each. I did give a bit more to the Oxfam coffers. We also picked up a 'Peter Rabbit and Friends' compendium which enraged me for its divergence from the originals and oversimplification of BP's text. Honestly what is the world coming to. I refused to include this book in the blip. Pig Robinson, Two Bad Mice and the Tailor of Gloucester were all here already.
It was a very busy morning in the town. Back now to play in the garden. It's very warm and sunny. Later on Otter goes to his holiday home because, yet again, I'll be away for a few days. More exotic blips to come I hope.
