Today was my final day as Clinical Director for our Health & Social Care Partnership - ending a 7 year career in clinical management alongside my GP work. Next week I will return to ( almost ) full time general practice and must admit to be looking forward to it.
Politicians will tell you we have “ too many managers” in the NHS. That’s nonsense; in my view there are not enough and those that I’ve worked with are dedicated, hard working and live and breathe the NHS. Many are juggling scare resources ( staff and money ) to ensure a safe service for all of us who use the NHS. So my thanks to all the skilled and dedicated colleagues who’ve helped me over the last 7 years.
