Road to Nowhere

Making the most of the fine weather, we did a strenuous walk up and around Mam Tor.

The last part of the walk was along this road.
In 1979, following constant repairs due to landslips, it finally collapsed altogether after severe storms caused a massive landslide and it was subsequently abandoned.
