Fishhook Barrel Cactus

This is probably the last bloom of any cactus in the desert for some time. It’s really pretty when all the buds bloom at the same time and the flowers are open a little more that they are in this photo.

I have put in motion a Pot Luck Open House to be held at my place in a couple of weeks. I’ve invited many of Mom‘s friends so that they can welcome her to her new digs. She is really looking forward to it, but doesn’t think anyone will show up. I’ve invited about 16 people and will be happy if ten can make it. I really hope that her old friends, who haven’t been by to see her in quite some time, don’t disappoint her. That would break my heart.
