On the rock shelf

At last today I saw the whales.
When we moved here we were told we would be able to see the whales as they move up and down the coast....but they have proved to be very hard to spot. Today I could see a pod of at least 4 as they cavorted in the waves...
Albeit with some rather strong binoculars.
No chance of a photo though...I would need a pretty powerful lens...and a new camera.
