Antique money

We don't own any antiques, but my guilty pleasure is watching any antique programme the BBC happen to be showing.

I'm always amazed to see the family treasures that people on these shows are happy to flog. If I had one, it would be my honour to be a temporary keeper of the family history, not to sell it to buy a new dress or pay for a meal somewhere fancy.

So, with the remainder of my birthday gift money, I'm going to buy a real antique. Possibly a barometer or candlesticks - definitely not something fragile.
