Apple or Plum?

This lovely tree stands near Bullock Creek in Ardmore Street near the lake front. We think it may be a crab apple - it has also been suggested it may be an ornamental plum. I’m sure someone will enlighten us! An extra today of the mountains and sky looking quite dramatic - taken from Lismore Park.
