Lytes Carey

Our West Country visit has started with a night with friends near Yeovil. Tony and Normous were at primary school together, a very long time ago.
They took us to Lytes Carey, a medieval house which was extensively renovated about a hundred years ago, but so well done, you wouldn't know. There was a lovely atmosphere, especially here in the great hall. I love to see the Elizabethan and Jacobean furniture. After visiting the house we walked in the well kept gardens in the warm sun. There was still a lot of colour in the closely planted herbaceous border.
Back at the house we enjoyed the company of their two Burmese cats, elder siblings of our little cat Coco. They were so like her in so many ways. (see extra)
