Grouse and Cheese
Today was the last full day of our North Yorkshire Holiday, we have to go home tomorrow.
Today we drove up over the tops to Hawes, photographing the other side of the valley along the way. Once there, we spent the rest of the morning in the Wensleydale Cheese Factory, where we were treated with a demonstration on how to make cheese, and we could then watch them making cheese in the factory, which we found really interesting!
After a very yummy cheese-themed lunch, we walked back in to Hawes and had a look around the rope makers before making our way back to the cottage. We again kept stopping and taking photos of barns and walls (and this grouse) and we then waited in Gunnerside for the mobile fish and chip van to turn up. This was a well attended event, there were more than 25 people in the queue, some of which came out of the pub specially (and queued whilst carrying their pints!). We stopped in a very dark lay-by to eat them on the way back.
Once back at the cottage we photographed the stars as the night was very clear. We then had a hot drink and Sharon went out again to photograph the moon. It was getting chilly by this point!
