Autumn light on the river
A quiet day at home recovering from yesterday's outing, processing photos and doing a bit of work. It was still very warm when I went for an afternoon walk along the river. There was hardly a breath of wind and the reflections on the river were rather beautiful. Unfortunately dense tall growth of the marginal vegetation meant that it was harder to find any clear views.
I was really pleased to see that the Nene Park Trust have taken a hay-cut from many areas of more species-rich grassland, including the meadows that support snake's-head fritillaries. Hopefully this should guarantee a good show of flowers next spring.
