The Candlemass Road

I bought this from a charity book sale at a local Co-op; all books were £1 but I only had about 25p so I went back a few days later and put some more coins in the bucket.  I've never read any of the the Flashman books although I've always thought they looked interesting and must try them sometime.  This was partly of interest as it's set in the Scottish/English borderlands.  Short but not an easy read as it's written in the language of the time (late 1500s), but a very enjoyable sketch of the times. Violent.
