Lava field and mountain
Today was a contrast program : we drove up to the McKenzie Pass only to be greeted by strong winds, low hanging clouds and rain.
While driving up there we came through big parts of burned forests - fire must have been raging there in the last two years. Then the landscape changed to a unreal lava landscape. The Valley, the mountains all around it , all had been made by huge lava streams about 7000 years ago. Never have seen anything like this - much bigger than Hawaii lava fields. All the surrounding mountains are sleeping volcanoes.
Try to watch this picture on a bigger screen. Two extras I will upload later as soon as I come home.
