This 'Pharos' is the oldest building in England.

The Pharos or lighthouse was built by the Romans not long after 55BC to guide their boats up the waterways to Roman 'Dubris' or Dover as we now know it. It stands next to the church of St Mary in Castro at Dover Castle.
