The Lifeboat Horse
This is the Lifeboat Horse, a fab sculpture by Rachael Long which formed part of the Wells Heritage Art Trail. As the trail finished at the end of September, G and I went to Wells this morning to see it before it goes. I have heard that there are plans to delay its removal or even commission a permanent sculpture. This would be a great idea and a great tribute as Wells was the last station in Britain to use horses to launch a lifeboat. At high tide only the very top of the horse can be seen and at low tide it's all visible. You can see a short BBC news video about it here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-norfolk-45175916/lifeboat-horse-swims-for-norfolk-coast-art-trail
