The Mission of the Shriners Hospitals for Children is to:

"Provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.

Provide for the education of physicians and other healthcare professionals. Conduct research to discover new knowledge that improves the quality of care and quality of life of children and families.

This mission is carried out without regard to race, color, creed, sex or sect, disability, national origin or ability of a patient or family to pay.

Our Vision: Shriners Hospitals for Children will be the unquestioned leader, nationally and internationally, in caring for children and advancing the field in its specialty areas."

My father is the Chairman of the Shine Circus in Green Bay Wisconsin. I got to go with him to his office today so he could send an email before we went downtown to run errands. It was fun to be introduced to all, "this is my daughter, Jennifer...", just like when I was a little girl. I am proud that he volunteers so much of his time to such a worthy cause. It is true, affordable, universal access to healthcare is not the norm in this country. Shriner's Hospitals have been providing care to suffering children at no cost since 1922. If you know of any child that is in need of care, please check out the website or let me know and my father can help with a referral.
