The gift

My friend Christina has a brother who, 30+ years ago, starred in what has become a classic in Scottish film-making - Gregory's Girl.

While he has had plenty work as an actor on stage and screen, he has turned his hand to writing and has recently had his first novel published.

P, for whom I'm currently house-sitting, mentioned to Christina that her sister, Ruth, had had a crush on JGS as a teenager, so Christina has got her brother to sign a copy of his book as a gift, which P will take to her sister in Canada at Christmas.
