Overwhelmed

I was in Washington DC today. I spent a lot of time in my hotel room, still reading and learning lots in preparation for the big changes at work coming October 1st. Over 25,000 Flight Attendants from 2 large airlines are finally merging after 8 long years. (Well, actually 3, with a small airline in Guam joining the mix.) The changes involve work rules, scheduling procedures and an almost totally new computer system. There’s a huge amount to learn. There have already been a myriad of glitches and we are bracing ourselves for more on Day 1.

I went out for a brief walk and to get some lunch. It was a beautiful day. I should have torn myself away earlier.

I happened upon this sculpture - I’ve probably walked past it many times before and never noticed it. I laughed - it pretty much sums up how I feel right now!
