Brave Wee Coal Tit.
When we got back from our holiday on Tuesday we knew by the state of the bird feeders that there had been a major disturbance in the garden.
Neighbours confirmed that a sparrow hawk had been in all the gardens which explained the mess around the feeders and the fact that there were no wee birds around. None came yesterday but today the coal tits were the first to return , followed by the blue and the great tits. The chaffinches , the largest of the birds in our garden were last to return.
Funny how the tiny ones are the bravest. So it had to be a blip of one of the wee coal tits on the hedge.
Weather today was dismal heavy rain all last night and for most of today- very dark as well which explains the high ISO for this image.
