Rained a bit.....

20mm (under an inch) in 12 hours from yesterday afternoon.
Apparently the water level was at least a foot above this at its worst.
We think everyone who got flooded last time just kept dry this time, but Sky News were here this morning filming the "splash".

No doubt at the next village meeting the Environment Agency will claim it was "exceptional" and do sod all for another year.
So far some people in village have been flooded out three times in five years and each time the rainfall event that causes it gets less severe.
We are promised a flood catchment basin - late this year. I expect the money will not be available when it comes time to start.
