Today's the day ……………………… to carve

Back in the spring this year, I blipped a picture of the work going on in the Nobles Rest Public Park.

It all looked a bit of a mess then because there really was quite a major bit of earthmoving and tree-felling involved.  I walked through there today though - and I have to say, they have done an excellent job to provide good paths for everyone to walk, push prams or wheelchairs or jog along.  It looks a bit bare still but the trees were magnificent with their leaves on the turn.

And they have turned the base of this one that was cut down, into a brilliantly-carved wooden squirrel.  I think whoever did it must have done it on site because there's lots of sawdust around still.  So it will go on giving pleasure for a while yet ……………………….
