Kimmeridge

Our relatives yesterday recommended we visit The Etches Collection at Kimmeridge. It is a new museum, one man's fossil collection and research centre. It was a long drive but worth it to learn so much detail about marine fossils, beautifully presented.
Opposite the museum is this pretty cottage cafe and of course we stayed for lunch. It was absolutely full, even though Kimmeridge is quite remote down a windy lane.
On our journey we passed near Tyneham and I remembered hearing about this village which was taken over by the army in 1943 to be used as a practice area for the D Day Landings. Despite numerous campaigns the village has never been released as it is still in a central position on existing Army training ranges.
