On the up
That was hell. Some days are a doddle, like yesterday, and others are a killer, like today. Still it’s done now, Pentewan to Charlestown in four hours and twenty minutes with some absolutely ridiculously steep downhills and equally steep uphills. Climb thirty steps, take a breather, admire the scenery and take a few pictures before climbing the next thirty. Give me strength.
It didn’t help that I fell over trying to take a picture of a terrace of houses just after we left Pentewan. Back a bit, back a bit, clip a curb and fall backwards but somehow land face down. The camera took a bit of a bashing, as did my right hand, but a plaster soon covered up the damage. Just glad I didn’t break a femur.
A pretty cottage on a sunny day, although this doesn’t show it. I’ll add a few extras.
Forgot to mention that we scattered a few pheasants a couple of days ago, which a Peregrine Falcon was just about to have a go at. We had a terrific view of it coming straight at us before veering off. Also saw a barn owl and a tawny owl on our way home last night. All go here.
