Aflame
I had a day off walking, deciding that discretion was the better part of valour. (Who still says that?)
This afternoon I walked through the village to deliver a birthday card and spotted this Virginia creeper on a garden wall. The colours are fascinating.
The other Marjorie came this afternoon. She and Mum had great fun discussing her art class and the paintings and collages she has been producing.
Time to pack my bag ready for tomorrow when I lead a circular walk from Alston via the Wardway. It has proved very hard to find the origin of the name, "Wardway", although there are several in the area. We think it has to do with the Enclosure (Inclosure?) Acts when land was awarded to local people.
Perhaps we will have an expert on the walk who will know.
