Heliotrope Ridge
Today Mike and I planned on driving up to Baker and hiking to Winchester Mountain Trail. That part of Mt. Baker Hwy was closed due to some logging. We then choose to hike Heliotrope Ridge. The hike was 5.5 miles. It was uphill and at times I didn't think I could go on. This was one of the hardest hikes I have ever done. We hiked up rocks, where there was snow and ice... We passed many beautiful waterfalls and the view from the top was spectacular. If you look you can see the light blue color which is the ice glaciers. My extra photo you can see the conditions we hiked. Tonight I am sore but happy we did it. In total it was 19.000+ steps and 5 hours.
