Palace of Westminster
Carys slept in until 07.45 this morning, but she looked much better than when she went to bed so off to school she went.
W and I headed into London to have his final visit as part of the EAT studythat he has been involved in. He was brilliant on the train, which was busy. He sat on my knee and read George (one of the Thomas books) and ate raisins. He walked holding my hand all the way from the train, through the tubes until we got to Westminster. He then said "Mummy, my legs tired, can I go in sling?" So into the ERGO he went and hence the photo is iffy as he doesn't exactly sit still when I want to take a photo!
When we got there he had a complete meltdown. Refused to speak to the nurse and went dolaaly (?sp) when she put the emla cream on, claiming it hurt. Screaming and crying ensued, until he was finally distracted by a book and then some colouring. Thankfully that was the last of his silliness. He was really good for the skin prick test, which were slightly uncomfortable (I had all the tests too) and didn't even flinch for the blood test, even when he saw the blood in the tube. The Phleb told him it was tomato sauce! I was definately more uncomfortable with the blood tests and have a nice lump and bruise to prove it.
When we got out we went to South Bank as I knew they had a Christmas fair and I remembered from two years ago that they had a couple of rides and I was looking for the stall I got a couple of tree decorations from. sadly that stall wasn't there, but there was an old fashioned carousel with the horses that go up and down. I thought that that would be a treat for him after being used as a pin cushion. Imagine my horror when I hadn't got enough cash in my purse for us to both go on! I hadn't time to go and get some as I had to be home to pick up C from school. Thankfully W took the news with amazing stoicism, saying "Nevermind Mummy, maybe next time." Oh bless him, he can be so lovely.
Anyway the train journey home was lovely as he chatted away and then we got into the normal Thursday routine of school pick up, ballet, tea and bed. Then I have done the ironing and sort of tidied the kitchen but haven't even started the packing for tomorrow yet. I do however have a list. Got to love a list.
