Castle Espie

The Brent geese are back in their hundreds! It's an amazing sight, there were geese everywhere! There were also black tailed godwits, Curlew and oyster catchers, so many birds to see this morning, but the geese are simply everywhere! Apparently we have about 80% of the world population of Light Bellied Brent geese visiting Strangford Lough every winter, this equates to around 25,000 birds! Castle Espie is a fantastic place to watch the geese - and other water birds. We certainly enjoyed our morning :-)
