Another Remembrance

I was at St Alphonsus Church, in London Rd., Glasgow earlier this evening. Every year, an ecumenical service is held there to commemorate those who have died from drug or alcohol related causes in the previous year.

The quilts that have been worked and are hung in the church during the service are stitched with more individual messages of remembrance and hope sometimes mentioning a loved one's name, other times broadcasting a more general message like the one above.

There are a lot of tears at this service, now in its 19th year but the church is full of people grieving their own losses and reminding us that every one of these deaths is a tragedy.
